GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES April 28, 2005

The April Board Meeting was called to order
Delegate Hiltenbeitel gave an abbreviated treasurers report, due to the resignation of Patty Memering. Treasurer report was accepted by the Board.

OLD BUSINESS
Mike Hoffman sent email to WLWT station manager in hopes of getting an on air mention for the Fischer House. He has also talked to the Kentucky Enquirer asking them to do an article, with the possibility of also getting an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
According to President Anderson, former president Harthun still has not resigned from the National Board, nor have we received any reports regarding the National Board Meeting.
A bylaws committee will be formed by Delegate Darby, President Anderson and Vice President Stamper. The filing committee is in the process of setting up dates for organizing files at the union hall.
The board voted to put the stipend committee on hold until the new treasurer is familiar with his duties.
NEW BUSINESS
Due to the resignation of Patty Memering the general board in accordance with the bylaws held an election for the position of treasurer. Mike Hiltenbeitel was elected as the new treasurer.
With the new position, Treasurer Hiltenbeitel has resigned as delegate for area E. The board voted to hold a special election in area E.
President Anderson announced that the call center will be hiring 8 full timers, with the possibility of 8 more later in the year.
Make a Wish Foundation sent a thank you card for U.W.U.A. local 600’s donation.
The AFL-CIO is calling for a per capita increase from 49 cents to 52 cent per member.
Local 1434 are on strike regarding contract language. If their company is successful local 1434 numbers will be reduce from 270 employees to 70 employees. The board voted not to make a donation at this time.
Picnic committee was formed by President Anderson. Delegates Malone, Haubner and President Anderson will serve on the committee.
President Anderson read the Department of Labor’s exit report.
Vice President Stamper gave her report on the Regional Meeting in Pittsburg. The report on the Chicago conference was given by delegate Dobbins.
Delegate Darby made a motion to adjoin seconded by Delegate Miller.
