The April meeting was called to order by President Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Roll call of Officers took place. All were present. Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Lori Stamper. Second by Randy Darby. Motion passed. Financial report was read by Mike Hiltenbeitel. Motion to accept by Randy Darby. A second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS Fire department came and did their inspection. Passed inspection but do need to get 2 new fire extinguishers. AFL-CIO Union industries show – 2007 America at Work. June 15th -17th at the Duke Energy Center. Free admission and open to all union members. REPORT OF OFFICERS Phil Malone – Power and Delivery renovation at 4th and Main has been completed. Had a celebration on April 25th. Randy Darby – Would like to see the Reps on the UWUA website updated. Dave Schuck – asked about grievances being attached to the minutes. Also inquired about AMI meters. President Anderson wants a meeting set up with Union and Management. Walt Dobbins – inquired about sending T&D group out of town for storm duty. Will possibly be discussed in negotiations. OLD BUSINESS Operation family reunion – still looking for a volunteer to handle the bake sales, fundraisers, etc. Full time / part time ratio – Theopolis Holeman approved 22 full time positions on April 25th. President Anderson and Lori Stamper met with the BBB concerning the By-Law mailing from ‘Addressed for Success’. An agreement was made that saved the union 613.00. By-Law Booklets are being printed and will be sent out to members as soon as they are ready. Displaced employees – a meeting has been set up for May 9th with the company to discuss Accounts Payable and the Mailroom. Received 1 bid for the replacement of the furnace at the hall. Will be getting 2 more bids. NEW BUSINESS A committee will be formed to look at compensation for the entire board. Labor Religion Dinner – President Anderson sent Walt Dobbins to this dinner. Had different speakers discussing the unions and the churches to work together. Union Trustees have been selected to audit the books during the month of June each year. They will be Perry Hill, Jenny Schaffer, Danny Geers. Randy Darby made a motion to accept the three individuals. A second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed. The National Convention will take place in Cincinnati from June 27th – 30th at the Millenium Hotel. Mike Hiltenbeital made a motion to buy a new refrigerator. A second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed. Randy Darby made a motion to adjourn. A second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed.
