GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The April meeting was called to order by Jim Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place. Pat Roderick and Jim Anderson absent.  

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Steve Kowolonek.  A second by Phil Malone.  Motion passed. 

A motion by Lori Warren to dispense the reading of the minutes.  A second by Lori Turner.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

AFL-CIO – UWUA is endorsing 2010 United Way Campaign.  No financial support, just our name. 

Newport Fire Fighters requesting a donation for Community Outreach program.  After much discussion, a motion by Randy Darby to donate 50.00.  Motion passed. 

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Steve – attended a Safety Expo in Columbus, OH.  

OLD BUSINESS 

Kristy Knobloch, Shirley Cockrell, Steve Kowolonek and Lori Turner will be attending the Education Conference in Pittsburgh May 12^th – 14^th. 

President Anderson discussed the UEIP bonus.  Still waiting on the Company for an answer. 

President Anderson also discussed the grievance filed on behalf of the Union concerning contractors.  Started at 3^rd stage. 

Grievance 305 – unfair work assignment in Meter Reading – was presented to the board.  A vote was taken to go to arbitration.  

NEW BUSINESS 

The Union will be having a picnic this year.  More details to follow. 

A motion to adjourn by Shirley Cockrell.   A second by Randy Darby.  Motion passed.
