GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 25, 2011 EXECUTIVE BOARD Jim Anderson-President Lori Warren- Vice President Shirley Cockrell-Treasurer Steve Kowolonek-Secretary DELEGATES Patty Memering DL Wallace Camille Waller Walt Dobbins Steve Fischer Mike Hoffman The August meeting was called to order by President Anderson. The Pledge of Allegiance was taken. A moment of silence was observed. Roll call was taken by Treasurer Cockrell. Secretary Kowolonek was not present. The previous months minutes were read by Delegate Waller. A motion to accept was made by Lori Warren. Second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed. The financial report was presented by Treasurer Cockrell. A motion to accept was made by Lori Warren. Second by Mike Hoffman. Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS United Way contacted the Local about a possible donation. Lori Warren made a motion to donate $200 to United Way. Second by DL Wallace. Motion passed. PICNIC COMMITTEE Representative Becky Brown has volunteered to help with this year’s picnic. Also, Janice Maritini volunteered to help with the kids prizes that will be given away. Mike Hoffman passed out the flyers that were created by Patty Memering. These flyers should by placed on all Union boards. Chef Barone’s has been hired to do the catering. OFFICER’S REPORTS Delegate Waller- discussed the SB5 situation in Ohio Delegate Waller is our Local Union contact about the SB5 campaign. She is in contact with the Ohio Lobor Unions who are fighting against SB5. Delegate Dobbins- discussed the hiring of 2 contractors. Delegate Wallace- discussed a fact finding meeting that she had attended. NEW BUSINESS Secretary Kowolonek and Delegate Hoffmanb will be having a meeting with the company to discuss the Smart Grid and how it affects Meter Reading. President Anderson, Vice-President Warren and Secretary Kowolonek had a meeting with the company about the Line Inspector Area. The Company was not prepared for the meeting and will reschedule. The General Membership Meeting will take place on September 22, 2011 at the Bellevue Vets. The meeting will start at 6 pm. All members are welcome. Delegate Fischer discovered information about the merger between Duke Energy and Progressive Energy that was misleading. The Union has contacted the Company about this and is requesting information about this. A motion to adjourn was made by Steve Fischer. Second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed.
