GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

The August meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  All present. 

Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Randy Darby.  A second by Steve Kowolonek.  Motion passed. 

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Randy Darby. 
A second by Lori Warren.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

Universal Living Wage Campaign - looking for participants to join them to promote their campaign. 

United Way - motion by Randy to donate 200.00 (same as last year).  A second by Lori Turner.  Motion passed.   

JAWM - Job Adjustment Workplace Modification Program.  The company is obligated to make accomodations for anyone that can't perform their job due to disability reasons. 

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Shirley - made a motion to have dead tree in front of Union hall removed.  A second by Steve Kowolonek.  Motion passed.  President Anderson will take care of getting this taken down. 

OLD BUSINESS 

Discussion took place concerning postitions at power plants.  3 full time and 2 part time positions will be posted in Sept. 

The picnic will take place at the grove at Hartwell on Sept 18th at 4:00pm. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Jewelry Policy - will go into effect on Oct 1, 2009.  This policy applies to anyone field personnel under Sandra Meyer.  No jewelry to be worn while out in the field. 

Region II and III conference will be held in Cleveland, OH on Oct 14, 15 and 16th. 

The Union was notified that there will be 3 new IT positions at 3 different levels coming to the Union.  The details are still being worked out.
