GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES
DECEMBER 20, 2007

Darby The December meeting was called to order by President Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. Lori Turner was absent. Treasurer’s report was read by
Shirley Cockrell. Motion to accept by KristyKnobloch. Motion to dispense reading of the
minutes by Lori Stamper. A second by Walt Dobbins. COMMUNICATIONS The National announced their goal
of raising $500,000 for the Fisher House has been met. REPORT OF OFFICERS Shirley Cockrell discussed selling our Spectra stock. Motion was made to sell Spectra and reinvest by Randy Darby. A second by Steve Kowolonek. Motion passed. Steve Kowolonek discussed the 50.00 safety award. Some departments don’t pass this on to their employees. President Anderson will address Jim Mehring about the situation and if nothing is accomplished, we will pull our UWUA people off of the safety committee. OLD BUSINESS No union dues came out of the Dec 7 paycheck. NEW BUSINESS UWUA dues will increase 1.88 per month as of January 1st, 2008. The board voted on 2 separate grievances to take them both to arbitration. Both votes passed. Grievance #264 – working out of classification in the Gas Measurement Center and grievance #269 – violation of the merger agreement. Discussion took place on the vacancies that are still available for the area reps. A motion was made by Walt Dobbins to donate 100.00 to the Jeff Johnson Memorial Fund. Jeff was a Duke employee and member of the USWA that was killed on the job in Dec 2007. A second by Pat Roderick. Motion passed. President Anderson and Vice President Stamper attended a state housing hearing on Senate Bill 221 in Columbus along with the AFL-CIO and various other UWUA locals - concerning reregulation in Ohio. Motion to adjourn by Walt Dobbins. Second by Steve Kowolonek. Motion passed.
