GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

FEBRUARY 26, 2009

The February meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  All present. 

Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Lori Warren. A second by Steve Kowolonek.  Motion passed. 

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Lori Turner.  A second by Randy Darby.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

Heart House in Indiana sent a thank you note to the UWUA for adopting a family at Christmas.  Another thank you was sent from the family that was adopted from Howell Elementary in Elsmere, KY. 

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Lori Warren – discussed the UEIP bonus – 1.44% + 5% safety (5% of whatever your UEIP bonus is). 

Phil Malone – discussed Smartgrid and some of the impacts it may have on call center and meter readers. 

Pat Roderick – discussed some issues with the meter reading dept. 

OLD BUSINESS 

Due to the high cost of the conference in Chicago, President Anderson has decided to send Lori Turner, Pat Roderick and Steve Kowolonek to the Power for America National Conference in Las Vegas along with himself, Phil Malone, Walt Dobbins.
 Lori Warren will not be attending. 

NEW BUSINESS 

A vote was taken whether to take grievance 276 – contractors doing union work – to arbitration.  The vote passed and the case will be taken to arbitration. 

Motion to adjourn by Randy.  A second by Kristy.  Motion passed.
