GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES 

JULY 26TH, 2007

The July meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  Steve Kowolonek was absent. 

Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Phil Malone.  Second by Dave Schuck.  Motion passed. 

Financial report was read by Mike Hiltenbeitel.  Motion to accept by Walt Dobbins.  A second by Lori Stamper.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic on Monday, Sept 3rd at Coney Island.  AFL-CIO is asking for donations to help out with the cost of the picnic.  Motion was made by Lori Stamper to not donate to the picnic this year.  A second by Phil Malone.  Motion passed. 

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Dave Schuck – asked if they are filling the key room clerk at Queensgate.  President Anderson will be talking with management about getting the job filled.  

OLD BUSINESS 

Discussion took place about the union picnic at Hartwell on August 24th.  Fliers will be sent to members through the company mail. 

A vote was taken at the Open Membership Meeting at Hartwell in June concerning compensation for the President and Vice President of the Local 600.  All union members present at this meeting voted on this proposal.  The proposal passed to compensate those two positions and will take effect as of July 2007.   

A new area list was passed out to all delegates.  Motion by Shirley Cockrell to accept the new list.  A second by Randy Darby.  Motion passed. 

NEW BUSINESS 

A grievance concerning seniority in job assignments in the Meter Reading department was denied by management.  Randy Darby made a motion to take to arbitration.  A second by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion passed. 

A grievance concerning billing work going to Indiana and Charlotte is pending a vote for arbitration.  The union is waiting for some information on the backfilling of jobs from  management. 

A meeting will be set up between the union and management to discuss how the Senior Order Processing Rep from NSCC will be filled. 

Management has notified the union of several payroll deductions that will be discontinued beginning 2008.  President Anderson has requested a meeting with management to discuss this issue. 

Motion to adjourn by Randy Darby.  A second by Dave Schuck.  Motion passed.
