GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

JULY 23^RD, 2009

The July meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  Lori Turner absent. 

Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Lori Warren.  A second by Phil Malone.  Motion passed. 

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Steve Kowolonek.  A second by Randy Darby.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

Substance Abuse Policy – if you are off work for more than 180 days, you are required to be drug tested. 

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Shirley – internal audit was performed by Dan Geers, Jenny Schaefer and Perry Hill.  The audit was completed successfully. 

Phil  – a couple of different teams are looking at different procedures in Billing dept.  No union members are involved in looking at the procedures, only semi-monthly.

Randy – discussed some issues of T&D working out of their classification.  The issues have been addressed. 

Steve – new safety policy in KY.   If you are wearing a new reflective vest, you do not need reflective pants.  If it is the old vest, you need to be wearing the pants. 

OLD BUSINESS 

Arbitration for contractors in generating stations has been dropped.  The company has agreed to 3 full time and 2 part time. 

The UWUA picnic will be on Friday, September 18^th at the grove at Hartwell.  See your union board for more information. 

Discussion took place on pre-arb for ‘meter route analysis’ position.  Steve Kowolonek made a motion to drop it.  A second by Lori Warren.  Motion passed. 

NEW BUSINESS 

National Executive Board Conference will be in Vegas in June 2011 at Ceasar’s Palace. 

Meeting with management on 8-24-09 to discuss a new jewelry policy. 

Randy made a motion to adjourn.  A second by Phil.  Motion passed.
