GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES JUNE 25TH, 2009

The June meeting was called to order by President Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. Lori Turner absent. Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Walt Dobbins. A second by Phil Malone. Motion passed. Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell. Motion to accept by Steve Kowolonek. A second by Lori Warren. Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS Dial One security and fire alarm were both checked for this year. Bill Hofstetter, of T&D dept, has been put on the Educational Committee. AFL-CIO Labor Day picnic – all UWUA members are invited. Fliers will posted. REPORT OF OFFICERS Shirley Cockrell – the internal audit will be done in July. The committee was not able to do the audit in June due to prior commitments. OLD BUSINESS New UWUA sign was installed in the front of the union hall. Much discussion took place on the UWUA picnic for this year. Fliers were posted on union boards asking for volunteers to help with the picnic this year. One person from the union offered to help this year. President Anderson will send a flyer out asking that members who plan to attend this year – to please contact Steve Kowolonek or Phil Malone. More details to follow. Pre-arbitration meeting for Route Analysis job to be held with Don Opatka and Bob Mead on June 30th. NEW BUSINESS Contractors at Generating Stations case (#292) was presented to the board for arbitration. A vote was taken and the case will go to arbitration. A motion was also made by Lori Warren to have Julie Ford arbitrate the case. A second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed. Motion to adjourn by Randy Darby. A second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed.
