GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

JUNE 24^TH, 2010

The June meeting was called to order by Jim Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place. Steve Kowolonek absent.

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Randy Darby.  A second by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed. 

The May minutes were read by Kristy Knobloch.  Motion to accept the minutes by Lori Warren.  A second by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

None to report.

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Lori W – went over details of the UWUA picnic which will be held Sept. 10^th  at Hartwell.

Also discussed the lack of parking in the company garage for meetings/grievances.

Pat – when you are on STD your access to the company is suspended until you return to work. 

Walt – discussed issues on hiring/promoting guidelines in the Engineering and Planning group.

 OLD BUSINESS 

Nomination and Election notice for UWUA will be mailed out soon.  These forms must be received in the post office box by 10:00am Aug 21^st.  Other details will be in the Election notice. 

Grievance 317 will go to arbitration. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Call Center – 4 lead positions have gone to exempt positions.  Meetings were held between management and the Union regarding the changes in the duties of the lead position.  Could not come to an agreement so management made these 4 positions exempt.  Had a 1^st stage regarding the changes.  Have to decide whether to pursue 2^nd. 

Jim Anderson and Lori Warren are supposed to meet with Jay Alvaro of Labor Relations to discuss all the changes that the company is making.

Randy Darby made a motion to adjourn.  A second by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed.
