OLD BUSINESS

Mike Hoffman went to Washington to tour Fischer House, he appreciated the opportunity. Mike has set up an account with 5th/3rd Bank for donations. He is also talking with management regarding displaying posters and pictures at various locations at Cinergy, in hopes of generating more donations for the Fischer House. Mike is also going to use the open day for meter readers as an opportunity to ask for donations. Anyone who has suggestions to generate an increase in donations is asked to give Mike Hoffman a call.

Vice President Stamper gave the presentation on board compensation guidelines. Committee money will now be called compensation. Some of the changes are as followed: Vacation day if used to do union business will be unpaid by the union, unless asked by president. Mileage will be paid similar to the company’s procedure. Better records will need to be kept with regards to receipts from board members.  Delegate Darby made a motion to accept guidelines 2nd by Schuck. The Board Compensation Guidelines accepted by the board.

President Anderson says he is not holding up the T and D decision, Russ Campbell says until he speaks with other areas won’t be able to make a decision.

Delegate Darby made a motion for a committee to be formed to look at the committee’s stipends, seconded by Delegate Schuck. President Anderson appointed delegates Schuck, Memering, Darby, and Vice President Stamper. Delegate Darby to chair the committee.

Special Board Meeting

The Department of Labor conducted a routine audit at Local 600 in November 2004. Acting on the advice of the DOL auditor, a committee was formed to review questionable areas with respect to petty cash payments during the 2001-2004 time frames. After reviewing financial reports the committee presented to the General Board various payments which were made to some Executive Board members that were inappropriate under the reimbursement guidelines of the Local 600 By-Laws.

A special board meeting was held on January 27, 2005, to address the issue, and reimbursements have been made by most of the parties involved. The new General Board is committed to recovering the additional restitutions to comply with the committee’s recommendations.

NEW BUSINESS

President Anderson discussed AMR (automatic meter reading), it is a serious consideration with the company, and they are going to investors to get approval. AMR has the ability to restore or disconnect gas and electric service from the office it will be done over electric lines and by radio waves.

It has the technology to see who is tampering with meters. This system gives the company a lot of options.

Management committee on bill inserting and sorting is going forward, President Anderson said not a lot to report on at this point. Six people will be affected; we will look at placing them when time comes, management willing to try to work something out for those people affected.

President discussed attendance and behavior at negotiation meetings. He went over what should and should not be done during these meetings.
