GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES MARCH 24, 2011

Mike Hoffman The March meeting was called to order by President Anderson. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag took place. A moment of silence was taken.
Roll Call was taken. Delegates Memering, Waller, Dobbins, Hartman, and Hoffman were present. Delegate Fischer was attending a conference.
Previous months minutes were read by Secretary Kowolonek. A motion to accept was made by Shirley Cockrell. A second by Camille Waller. Motion passed.
Financial report was presented by Treasurer Cockrell. There was discussion about property depreciation and how it could affect taxes. A motion to accept was made by Steve Kowolonek. A second by Mike Hoffman. Motion passed.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter from Cincinnati Interfaith about a conference on April 12, 2011. Delegate Dobbins would look into his attending.
Regional Director Don Opatka forwarded an article from Cleveland.com written by Connie Schultz. It concerned SB5 in Ohio.
The National Union sent a letter about the COPE Fund. (Committee on Political Education) The National would like for each local union to start a COPE Fund. Delegate Waller volunteered to help with this Committee. President Anderson would bring back more information from his National Board Meeting.
The National sent out a request to get members email addresses.
The Kentucky Dare Association requested a donation. After discussion, it was decided that it would be better to help on a more local level.
OFFICER’S REPORT
Secretary Kowolonek- Gave some details about holding the Board Meeting at the Bellevue Vets Hall. President would sent out fliers to be placed on Union boards.
Delegate Memering- Discussed situation that concerned Senior Clerks.
Delegate Dobbins- Discussed Grievance of Working out of Classification.
Delegate Hoffman- Settlement of Grievance 328.
Delegate Hartman- Discussed situation with New Service Contact. The situation will continued to be monitored. Also, Holiday Office Contractors were given notice when the would no longer be needed. Delegate Hartman also announced his resignation from the Board, he has accepted a new position outside the Union. President Anderson thanked Dave for his service to the Union and told him that he had been an asset to this Union. President Anderson also would contact the National Union about filling this vacant Delegate position.
Delegate Waller- Discussed a fact finding meeting that she had attended.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Grievance 311- President Anderson and VP Warren had met with our attorney about the upcoming arbitration.
Grievance 312- Discussion on this grievance took place. A motion to drop this grievance was made by Lori Warren. A second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed.
President Anderson would like for each Delegate to give him the names of the Reps that report to them.
The Company came to the Union about a job that had been classified wrong. This job will need to go through the Job Evaluation Process. President Anderson and Delegate Dobbins will be involved in this process.
A bus trip to Keeneland will take place on April 9, 2011. The cost will be $45 and would include the bus ride, entrance to the park, meal voucher, and drinks.
Secretary Cockrell mentioned that if you have any questions on how to report your Union Activity for you payroll, you should ask your individual payroll person.
The contract calls for a pay increase on April 1, 2011.
A motion to adjourn was made by Patty Memering. A second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed.
