GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES

MAY 28, 2009

The May meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  All present. 

Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Steve Kowolonek.  A second by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed. 

Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion to accept by Kristy Knobloch.
A second by Phil Malone.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

None to report.

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Shirley – discussed hand voting vs. silent voting on arbitration cases.  She made a motion that all arbitration
cases that the board has to vote on be done in silent format.  A second by Lori Warren.  Motion passed. 

Steve – the pandemic policy is under review.  Any information on the pandemic policy can be found on the portal.
Also discussed some issues with the meter readers. 

OLD BUSINESS 

Arbitration case of terminated employee.  The company will meet with the union on 6/29 to discuss the case further. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Newport office – the office will be closing.  This will affect 5 UWUA employees and they will be moved to Holiday Park. 

Union picnic – much discussion took place.  President Anderson will send fliers out to each of the offices
asking for volunteers to help with the picnic.  If no volunteers, there is a possibility of not having a picnic.  

Motion to adjourn by Randy.  A second by Phil.  Motion passed
