GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES MAY 27, 2010

The May meeting was called to order by Jim Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. All present. Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell. Motion to accept by Pat Roderick. A second by Randy Darby. Motion passed. A motion by Randy Darby to dispense the reading of the minutes. A second by Lori Turner. Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS None to report. REPORT OF OFFICERS Lori W – the date of the Union picnic will be Sept 10th. Details to follow. Kristy Knobloch, Shirley Cockrell, Steve Kowolonek and Lori Turner attended the Education Conference in Pittsburgh May 12th – 14th. Each one discussed some of the topics that were talked about at the conference. Phil – management in the call center wants to have a pro-active approach to get production up in the call center. Walt – E&P has brought in 2 more contractors to the group. OLD BUSINESS Met with HR on May 20th concerning the UEIP checks and the supplemental income. Will give them 2 weeks to get us an answer and then we will move on to 3rd stage. Jim Anderson, Lori Warren and Shirley Cockrell met with DP&L to discuss how their taxes are done on their compensation and also their contractors at DP&L. A motion was made by Steve Kowolonek to combine grievance 310 (dist of overtime in Feeder group) with grievance 311 (contractors at Duke energy). Randy Darby was a second. Motion passed. NEW BUSINESS The election for the UWUA is in September. A motion was made by Lori W. to reduce the Delegate areas from three to two. Randy made a second. Motion passed. A motion to adjourn by Randy Darby. A second by Steve Kowolonek. Motion passed.
