GENERAL BOARD MEETING

March 22ND, 2007

The March meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. 

Moment of silence for deceased members. 

Roll call of Officers took place.  All present. 

Motion was made by Randy Darby to dispense with the reading of the minutes, second by Steve Kowolonek.  Motion passed. 

Treasurer’s report read by Mike Hiltenbeitel.  Motion to accept by Randy Darby, a second by Shirley Cockrell.  Motion passed. 

COMMUNICATIONS 

AFL-CIO is conducting a Grievance Handling Class on April 17th and 19th  from 6:00pm-8:00pm at The Plumbers Pipefitters Local 392 Hall on Central Parkway, Cinti, OH.  The cost of the class is 40.00.   

REPORT OF OFFICERS 

Shirley Cockrell – Dave and her are still working on the storm call out procedure.  He will write up the proposal made up by the team and it will be presented to the Union and Management.  Shirley is to set up a meeting with Dave, Lori and Jim to see where they are at.  Shirley also asked where we are at with the contractors in Distribution Design. 

Dave Schuck –  Management is making the part-timers take Good Friday as an off day.  Dave is to check with management right away concerning this issue. 

Walt Dobbins – contractor will be let go as of March 31st

Steve Kowolonek – inquired about getting another rep at Queensgate?  President Anderson said we will have to wait until next election.  There is already 2 reps at Queensgate.  Also will be having a meeting with Chuck Sessions and Don Schneider on weather conditions.  Discussion also took place about meter readers being required to carry 1 of 4 PPE’s. 

OLD BUSINESS 

GPS – Steve Fisher, President Anderson and Don Opatka met with the company about the GPS system vs arbitration.  It was agreed that the GPS system will not be used to monitor an employee on a daily basis. 

Post Office – got a settlement of $140.00 returned to us, which is approximately half of what was spent for postage. 

Still waiting to hear back from BBB concerning Address For Success. 

NEW BUSINESS 

New by-law books will be ordered. 

A new air conditioner was installed due to the old one was stolen.  The cost was $3,460.00 and insurance paid $2,600.00.

A motion was made by Randy Darby to get bids for a new furnace with a second by Steve Kowolonek.  Motion passed. 

A motion was also made by Randy Darby to get 4 new windows installed.  A second by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed. 

Steve Kowolonek will be on the safety advisory committee. 

Dale Rouster volunteered to be on the tool committee taking the place of Sam Trammel who resigned. 

Bankrupty outsourcing – President Anderson was given figures on outsourcing that department.  It would affect 3 employees who would move to a different job resulting in getting rid of 3 contractors. 

Discussion took place on the 2007 picnic.  A motion was made by Randy Darby to table this discussion until next month.  A second by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed. 

Motion to adjourn by Randy Darby.  A second by Phil Malone.  Motion passed.
