GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES NOVEMBER 20TH, 2008

The November meeting was called to order by President Anderson. The meeting was held at The White House Inn before the rep/delegate dinner. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. All present. President Anderson thanked all the reps and delegates for their help throughout the year. Motion to dispense reading of the minutes by Randy Darby. A second by Phil Malone. Motion passed. Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell. Closed out Operation Family Reunion account. Motion to accept by Lori Stamper. A second by Lori Turner. Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS Incorrect information was given on health care benefits. A smoker only has to be smoke free since October, not for 1 year. Much discussion took place on 2.00 (per month per member) per capita increase per member for 2009. Steve Kowolonek made a motion to raise it 1.00 per month per member. A second by Shirley Cockrell. Motion passed. OFFICER REPORT Lori Stamper – the grievance for the snow day, March 7th 2008, has been settled. Any member that was docked for leaving early that day will be reimbursed up to 3 hours. This affected 64 of our members. Phil Malone – the east call center is planning core hours of 7:00 – 7:00, with the remaining hours going to the Carolinas. OLD BUSINESS It was voted to take grievance #284 to arbitration. However, the company agreed to bring the employee back to work and not go to arbitration. The union is still waiting on the new contract books (they are to be printed the early in January 2009). There will be a separate book for the letters.
