GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES OCTOBER 28TH, 2010

The October meeting was called to order by Jim Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. All present.
Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell. Motion to accept by Kristy Knobloch. A second by Phil Malone. Motion passed.
A motion by Lori Warren was made to dispense the reading of the minutes. A second by Randy Darby. Motion passed.
COMMUNICATIONS American Income Life – every member will receive a letter. Do not have to meet with them unless you want extra coverage. Each member automatically has a 1,000 coverage. Benefits Enrollment – October 25th – November 12th. Each member needs to go online and do their benefits.
OFFICERS REPORT Shirley – a motion was made by Shirley Cockrell to limit the number of duplicate keys to the Officers. A second by Lori Warren. Motion passed Phil – class of 20 part-time call center reps started 10/28. Randy – discussed Wellness Program. You do not have to participate in the program. Walt – has a meeting with the Accounting Dept on October 29th. Accounting Supervisor met with the group on Oct 28th and told them last day in the department is October 29th. Steve – Concerned about the air quality due to the construction on the 3rd floor at Queensgate. Contacted Jeff Dierker and he gave him a work order. Lori T. - discussed unexcused absences and having to get a Doctor’s release to return to work. Where is it in our
policy? OLD BUSINESS Holiday Office Park (HOP) – The Union sent a letter to Jim Turner (US mail and electronic) to see if there was other options. No response from Jim Turner. He told Jay Alvero to handle it
and Jay said it was a done deal.
UEIP – still waiting on a response. Greivance 305 was discussed. A motion was made by Lori Warren to proceed with the arbitration. Randy Darby was a
2nd. Motion passed. NEW BUSINESS A part time Meter Reader and the Company settled on unemployment compensation after he was dismissed from the
company. Grievance 318 was presented by President Anderson. A vote
taken not to go to arbitration. 6 members of the UWUA are challenging the election process. An investigative committee will be formed to investigate the charges. Business will proceed as usual.
Motion made by Randy Darby to adjourn. Second by Walt Dobbins.
