EXECUTIVE BOARD

The September Board Meeting was called to order by President Anderson. 

Treasurer Hiltenbeitel gave the treasurer’s report.  Motion was made by Walt Dobbins to accept the report.  A second by Larry Miller.  Motion passed. 

737 members.

 

OLD BUSINESS 

President Anderson updated us on the new employees (approximately 30) who have not been paying union dues which is the responsibility of the company to get them signed up.    A letter has been sent to Human Resources requesting that they reimburse the union for those dues. 

A lengthy discussion took place on changes to the By Laws.  By Laws will be sent out to the membership for a vote. 

The location for the Rep/Delegate dinner is still being decided.  Larry Miller and Lori Stamper are still looking into a location. 

NEW BUSINESS 

AFL-CIO Member to Member Walk will take place October 14th at Lloyd High School in Erlanger, KY. 

Discussion of replacing the secretary took place.  Randy Darby made a motion to table the discussion until next month.  Motion passed. 

CPA Auditor – Hayes Eddie Auditor’s prices have increased.  President Anderson is looking at getting a new auditor.  

Looking at getting new windows at the Union Hall.  Receiving bids from a couple of different companies.  Motion was made to table this discussion until next month.  Motion passed. 

Pam Beckett went to FMLA conference.  Our company seems to enforce FMLA differently than other companies.  Pam passed out a cd to the General Board explaining the 2006 FMLA update. 

Phil Malone mentioned Good Friday of next year and the fact that management will be off that day.  Our union will be working Good Friday. 

Shirley Cockrell was sworn in to replace Ken Wallace as a delegate. 

Steve Kowolonek presented his case to the board about going to outside arbitration concerning the change in Meter Readers schedule.  Changes were made to Meter Reading’s route and not discussed with the Union.  A vote was taken to decide whether to go to outside arbitration.  Case will be taken to arbitration. 

Motion was made by Randy Darby to adjourn the meeting.  A 2nd by Walt Dobbins.  Motion passed.
