GENERAL BOARD MEETING MINUTES SEPTEMBER 23, 2010

The September meeting was called to order by Jim Anderson. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Moment of silence for deceased members. Roll call of Officers took place. Kristy Knobloch absent. Financial report was read by Shirley Cockrell. Motion to accept by Phil Malone. A second by Randy Darby. Motion passed. The July minutes were read by Steve Kowolonek. Motion to accept the minutes by Lori Warren. A second by Shirley
Cockrell.
Motion passed. COMMUNICATIONS Drug policy has changed. They will be checking more for ecstasy and heroin. Annual Benefits Enrollment - Oct 25th - Nov 12th. Each member will receive their packet in the mail and they need to read over it very carefully.
REPORT OF OFFICERS Lori W. - Rep/Delegate dinner will be on Nov 18th. Location to be determined. Shirley - discussed the 2010 picnic and possible locations
for the 2011 picnic. OLD BUSINESS Local 600 has decided to go with a new CPA firm – Hammerman, Graf and Hughes. Accounting group – 10 union employees were told that their positions would be gone as of Oct 31. A grievance has been filed on where the work has gone? The union is working with the Company to find them positions in the Company. The election results have been posted on Union Boards and the new members will take office on Nov 1st. Met with Lisa Gregory concerning UEIP bonus. Still no decisions have been made.
NEW BUSINESS Holiday Office Park – the company is closing the payment center. The back offices will remain open. They are opening more pay stations. The HOP’s lease is up April 2011.
Greivance 312 – contracting out mail room drivers. It was voted to take this to arbitration. Grievance 309 – sending work to India. This was voted not to go to arbitration. Grievance 311 – Contractors doing Union work. This was
voted to take to arbitration. Randy Darby made a motion to adjourn. A second by Walt Dobbins. Motion passed. |
